The accused injured three passersby with a stabbing weapon; one man suffered serious injuries and two other people were moderately injured and hospitalized. Just a few hours later, a press conference was held, and Government Councillor Mario Fehr repeatedly described the incident as a “terrorist act.”

On Thursday morning, shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the area of Winterthur station, the incident occurred, where, according to witness statements and viral videos, a young man attacked passersby without warning and shouted “Allahu Akbar” several times. People ran out of the station hall, and passersby sought shelter on the opposite side of the street. A school class or kindergarten group was also in the immediate vicinity of the event. Nesip Dedeler (31), is the name of the accused, a Swiss Turkish dual nationality, was taken into custody about five minutes after police received the emergency call.

All three injured are Swiss citizens aged 28, 43, and 52. In the initial stage, police told the media that the investigation was ongoing and therefore they were unable to give information regarding a possible motive, adding that the investigation was proceeding in all directions. A few hours later, the Government Council and Department of Security held a press conference, during which Government Councillor Mario Fehr repeatedly described the incident as a “terrorist act.” The suspect’s previous connection to the notorious An’Nur Mosque was also discussed. Dedeler belonged to a group from which several young men were later charged and, in some cases, convicted.

Swiss President Guy Parmelin said on social media he was “shocked by the terrorist attack this morning in Winterthur.”

While the Security Department of Canton zurich were referring to the accused in the context of a terrorist act, the accused’s father, Ayhan Dedelar (55) from Winterthur, speaking to Blick, said: “My son is not a terrorist, but mentally ill and in need of help.” Ayhan does not agree with his son being labeled a terrorist.

Helvilux founder and Editor-in-Chief, journalist Mahesh Kamath, said: “To hide the incompetence of the Zurich Cantonal Police and the Security Department under Councillor Mario Fehr, politics are being played with this incident and a mentally ill person is being labeled a terrorist. In 2015, according to the police’s own statement, the accused was already known to the authorities due to a trial over an assault in Wülflingen, a district of Winterthur, and Dedeler reportedly told the judge, ‘You are not honored. I will certainly not stand before Allah.’ If so, why did the police fail to take serious action afterward to prevent further crimes by the accused? The police had the option to apply less coercive measures, such as a rayon ban, restricting him from certain areas to prevent further criminal or unlawful actions. Why were the Department of Security and, in particular, the Zurich Cantonal Police and Stadt Winterthur police not interested at that time in taking serious action? Did the police and department want the accused to commit a more serious crime so that they could later label him a terrorist and defame a specific religion? Mario Fehr is trying to cover up their own department’s incompetence, nothing else,” journalist Kamath said.

According to Fehr, “In 2024, Dedeler applied to renew his Swiss passport before emigrating to Turkey in August of that year. The man returned to Switzerland in May 2026 after being absent for two years” the security chief said.

Just three days before the incident, Dedeler was admitted into a psychiatric unit. He left the center on his own and the following day he was captured by police and readmitted.

One day before the incident, on Wednesday, doctors ruled that he did not pose a danger to the community. The next morning, however, the accused committed criminal actions while shouting “Allahu Akbar,” which not only destroyed his own life and seriously affected the lives of the three injured Swiss citizens but also created fear in the Winterthur community and defamed the Islamic religion.

Journalist Kamath also said, “We are not defending the accused’s actions. He should receive strict punishment, including the possibility of having his Swiss citizenship revoked. However, the main problem here is the incompetence of the Department of Security. When they arrested the accused a few days earlier and returned him to the hospital, why were no coercive measures initiated against him? Actions taken in good faith for public safety should be strictly enforced by the Swiss police and Department of Security, which in the Canton of Zurich is rarely the case. Due to the accused misusing religious words while committing a criminal act, even the Department of Security and the hospital authorities should be held accountable for failing to take precautions in advance who were well known in advance about the accused radical mindset.”

Under Art. 426 ZGB, authorities may have ordered compulsory psychiatric placement if a person poses a serious risk to public safety. This raises questions about whether threshold assessments and risk evaluations were correctly applied in the Winterthur Knife Attack case?

The Zurich Cantonal Police, while being aware of the accused’s past criminal history, took either no action or insufficient action against the accused for several years. This should be investigated and the responsible Swiss authorities must be held accountable. A helpless father’s situation is understandable, but mental illness itself cannot excuse violent criminal actions. Parents should also understand this before covering up the actions of their adult children.

This incident is once again a reminder to all parents who are still unaware of where their children are going, whom they are meeting and what kind of social media or groups are influencing them.

Helvilux also wishes to inform, through this media, that all three injured persons should pursue justice, direct claim to state through proper legal channels and not be distracted by hatred toward a particular religion based on the actions of a single mentally ill individual. Click here to check their website.

Journalist Kamath said, “We (Helvilux), over the past months, have published several articles from time to time warning the public about how the Swiss authorities’ negligent behavior and willful incompetence could become dangerous for ordinary Swiss citizens’ safety. Helvilux has also clearly stated how Swiss authorities may be misusing their own citizens as guinea pigs for these social experiments and propagandas. The Thursday attack could have been prevented if Councillor Fehr’s Department of Security had previously taken serious action against the Swiss-Turkish dual national suspect, 31-year-old Nesip Dedeler. If Swiss authorities fail to perform their duties properly and only react after a major criminal act occurs, then pursuant to Article 146 of the Swiss Constitution and Article 1 of the Cantonal Liability Act (Haftungsgesetz), all three injured Swiss citizens may be entitled to legally demand material and non material damage claim from the state which in this case liable on Canton Zurich Department of Finance. Only by this way will the government and the Department of Security be forced to act properly and in a timely manner in the future. To protect Swiss Democracy and Swiss Citizen Legal way is always powerful then unknowingly spreading hate or propagandas.”

The Helvilux investigative team also conducted investigations in several psychiatric hospitals operating in Winterthur city, Embrach, Zurich city, and other locations in the Canton of Zurich. They discovered several concerning claims regarding how, under the image of Swiss quality in the medical sector particularly in psychiatric hospitals the primary focus may in some cases be on maximizing insurance billing rather than fully curing patients. Therefore, in this recent incident, public prosecutor Winterthur Unterland should take this as an opportunity to also initiate an investigation into the working conditions of psychiatric hospitals. It should be examined whether doctors honestly discharge mentally ill patients after proper assessment or whether discharge reports are influenced by higher authorities or third parties. This must be investigated in the public interest because when wrong assessments happen Swiss Citizens’ lives are exposed to danger.

An anonymous investigator also told Helvilux media that in some psychiatric hospitals in the Winterthur area, even if patients do not take medication, doctors reportedly do not intervene seriously. Patients receive 5 star meals and, after a few days without proper therapy, are discharged. Hospital authority get there payment from insurance company, patient get 5 star food with some days as a vacation and all burden on Swiss Tax Payers. Patients undergoing so-called treatment may leave hospital premises at any time and return, with no effective control system in place. Doctors, instead of writing updated patient assessments, often use standard templates to complete reports quickly. This is described as the current situation in the Canton of Zurich, particularly in Winterthur. Therefore, an independent investigation is necessary.

Journalist Kamath also added that in Winterthur there have been several isolated incidents in which not only Islamic religion Swiss citizens but also generational Swiss citizens (Atheist, Orthodox and Christian Catholic) or English-Swiss dual citizens have allegedly been mistreated by Swiss authorities and have not received justice from the Swiss judicial system. Later, some of these victims, after experiencing perceived injustice, may become mentally ill or lose trust in their own system and become more vulnerable to radical influences and groups. Over time, such influences may contribute to radical thinking and criminal behavior. Therefore precaution on time is needed not a propaganda to label as “terrorist” after the actions.

Journalist Kamath further stated that it is not difficult to identify and address these problems, but that the Department of Security, the Zurich Cantonal Police and other responsible Swiss authorities show little interest in addressing them and repeatedly ignore them. According to him, this lack of attention contributed to what happened on Thursday in Winterthur. The same authorities then label such incidents as “acts of terror,” while innocent Swiss citizens suffer the consequences. He also criticized mainstream media and organizations for not explaining these issues clearly to the public, instead pursuing their own agendas. He warned that a particular religion may be defamed as a result, and that many innocent followers of that religion may face hate, discrimination, and racism in everyday life in Switzerland and on social media.

Winterthur knife attack incident becomes fuel for right-wing propaganda around “Keine 10 Millionen Schweiz”

On 14 June 2026, voting on the initiative “Keine 10 Millionen Schweiz” will take place. A majority of Swiss citizens are against the SVP initiative of putting a population cap of 10 million citizens; therefore, the result is expected to be a majority “No” vote in order to protect Swiss democracy. However, incidents such as the Winterthur knife attack are being used to fuel the SVP political agenda, aiming to increase fear among local Swiss citizens. At the same time, critics argue that the SVP does not ask a logical question of the Department of Security: when authorities were already aware of the accused Nesip Dedeler’s actions and alleged links to Islamic extremism for several years, why were coercive measures not taken in time to prevent the crime? How was his Swiss passport renewed or was it in process to renew?

When an ordinary Swiss citizen, journalist or human rights defender questions Swiss authorities about a permit or passport renewal, they apparently need to go full James Bond gadgets, surveillance and the whole 007 setup. But when a dual-national with a criminal record applies to renew Swiss citizenship… well, someone tell HELVILUX where the secret spy tech went.

Last year in November Fedpol boss Eva Wildi-Cortés told Swiss Public Television SRF warned of rising violence as Turkish mafia expands. Click here to read. Then why does the Department of Security fail to take any coercive measure in advance in the present matter? Helvilux requested an official response from Councillor Fehr; however, no reply has been received so far. As a result, Helvilux has limited expectation of receiving a response at this stage. Should a response be provided, Helvilux will publish it for its readers.

Even now, the MASS-VOLL party, after the Winterthur knife attack incident, has continued to use the event for political gain. Nicolas A. Rimoldi quickly distributed online newsletters in which he wrote the following:

“I will not, like other politicians do, say that I am surprised or shocked by the terrorist attack in Winterthur, because I am not. I have been warning about this danger since 2015. I also do not want to use many words here, because the situation is quickly explained. This happens because all ‘old parties’ need these conditions for maintaining their power and mass surveillance. In my speech in Lucerne, I explained this in more detail. You can find the video of my speech further down in the newsletter. Directly above (click on the image) you will find the video that we recorded yesterday in Winterthur at the scene of the incident.”

Rimoldi also shared his speech dated 2026 titled “We will not go quietly into the night,” with a YouTube video link included in the newsletter.

While Nicolas claims he is “not like other politicians,” critics argue that by using the Winterthur incident for political messaging, he is doing exactly what many describe as typical political exploitation of such events. He also shared a video recorded at the Winterthur site as part of his online content.

Interestingly, just like the SVP, MASS-VOLL, instead of directly questioning the Department of Security, is making videos on social media and claiming, “The population in Switzerland is not safe.” In his speech dated 5/9/2026, Nicolas Rimoldi said that other political parties were putting fear into citizens but in this latest video, Rimoldi is doing exactly the same thing.

Recently, Swiss media also exposed the interconnections between MASS-VOLL and neo-Nazi groups through both social media posts, designs, and propaganda, which show similar styles and chronology. This serves as an additional warning for ordinary Swiss citizens to think carefully before blindly following anyone. It is better to become self-aware, understand one’s rights, and actively protect themselves and Switzerland’s neutrality.

Journalist Kamath said, “When far-left Swiss politician of Bosnian origin, Sanija Ameti, shot a photo of baby Jesus, HELVILUX media criticized her actions. Click here to read. At that time, MASS-VOLL and Nicolas Rimoldi’s actions against Ameti were appreciated by HELVILUX media. However, if MASS-VOLL slowly gains influence and support from Swiss citizens and after that begins to engage in the same propaganda tactics as extreme right-wing and neo-Nazi groups, HELVILUX will also criticize them. Swiss citizens are not clueless about the hypocrisy currently occurring in Switzerland. History shows that even a so-called socialist party, with strong support and public acceptance, can transform into a Nazi regime, as happened in Germany under Adolf Hitler in 1933–1934.”

Kamath added, “Today, we are living in an extremely complicated and critical situation in Switzerland and in Europe, where it is hard to trust or keep faith that the Security Department will protect their own citizens. Local Swiss Citizens cannot fully trust the Swiss judiciary to provide justice to victims. Mainstream media often fails to report the in-depth reality of each incident and the Swiss political system is frequently distracted or influenced by competing agendas, Some organisations appear to be more focused on fundraising than on taking the actions for which they were originally established. Therefore, instead of blindly following anyone, Swiss citizens must focus on gaining more knowledge, experience and focus on prioritizing the Swiss Constitution over propaganda or political agendas. This is how we can protect this beautiful country and our neutrality.”

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.“— John 7:24

(For those who think this article is “defending Islam”: journalist Mahesh Kamath was born into a Hindu Brahmin family in India and a follower of the Holy Bible, has no ties to Islam yet somehow still possesses a functioning brain and soul, can spot propaganda a mile away and understands logic, law, and Swiss neutrality.)

Winterthur (HELVILUX): On 28 May 2026, a 31-year-old Swiss-Turkish dual national in Winterthur Switzerland once again made headlines worldwide.
