Oberembrach, 16.12.2025 – On Tuesday morning, a serious collision occurred on Eigentalstrasse in Oberembrach between a car and an e-bike, leaving the 76-year-old e-bike rider critically injured.
Around 7:30 a.m., a 27-year-old driver was traveling outside the village toward Nürensdorf. Near the Schützenhaus area, the car collided with the e-bike, which was traveling in the same direction, for reasons that are still unclear. The rider struck the windshield of the vehicle and was thrown onto the road. A paramedic provided immediate medical care on site before the injured man was transported to a hospital by a rescue team.
The Zurich Cantonal Police, together with the Winterthur/Unterland public prosecutor’s office, are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. The e-bike and the car involved were secured on the orders of the prosecutor. Eigentalstrasse was closed until 11 a.m., with traffic redirected by the fire department.
