Luxembourg (HELVILUX)- On 12 February 2026, 172 Luxembourg companies received the prestigious “Made in Luxembourg” certificate during a joint ceremony at the Chamber of Commerce. This annual event, now held once a year (previously twice), brought the total number of certified enterprises to over 2,000. The label, which has been promoting Luxembourg-origin products and services for more than four decades, continues to grow in relevance and reach.
A National Trademark Born in 1984
The “Made in Luxembourg” label was launched in 1984 as a registered trademark on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (now closely linked to the Ministry of the Economy), the Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce), and the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts (Chambre des Métiers). Its original focus was on industrial and artisanal products, but it has evolved to reflect Luxembourg’s diversified economy. Today it covers services, emerging technologies, and creative sectors while maintaining its core mission: highlighting the Luxembourg origin of goods and services.

More Than a Logo: A Seal of Origin and Trust
The label serves as a clear, recognisable mark of quality, reliability, and local roots. It helps consumers identify authentic Luxembourg-made products and services, while giving companies a powerful tool for differentiation – both domestically and on international markets. It symbolises the bridge between tradition and innovation, as the user’s original post beautifully captured: “Made in Luxembourg symbolises the connection between tradition and innovation and makes products and services from Luxembourg visible internationally.”
The Path to Certification: Four Steps to the Made in Luxembourg Mark
- Select the relevant professional chamber.
- Enter company details and upload the company logo.
- Describe the product(s) or service(s) and attach supporting documents (photos, brochures, leaflets, etc.).
- Answer a detailed questionnaire about the company’s use of the Luxembourg origin in marketing, employee training, apprenticeships, other labels, and international activities.
- After submission, the monitoring committee reviews the file and may request an (in-person or digital) company visit. The decision is final.
- Successful applicants pay a one-off fee of €200 + VAT and receive a certificate valid in principle for 5 years (renewable). The label can then appear on products, packaging, websites, brochures, invoices, and other promotional materials.
